How do I upgrade my R6?

To ensure that the latest versions are installed on your units, you occasionally need to keep the unit powered in "OFF Turned off" mode for at least 20 minutes.

Before you go ahead.  If a new version is available, a ring with an arrow is displayed—either green (download available for installation) or yellow (update available for download)—on the unit in the map view and in the Overview unit.

Note! For safety reasons, the unit must not be in operation or part of a system while performing this procedure.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Check what version the unit has in the Overview - Unit", click on "View Logs". Under "Version Data," you´ll find the current modem and I/O card version.

  2. Compare unit versions with the latest version found in main menu, "Version". This is where you'll find current versions for modem and PLC, per unit type.

  3. Place the unit in an area with good mobile coverage to allow the update to download.

  4. Ensure the traffic signal is connected to a battery and has power supply or other power supply with 12-16 Volt.

  5. Set the unit to "OFF Turned off". This can be done in BerlexConnect under "Units & Systems," select the unit. Under "Overview - Unit," select "Turn off unit." The unit is now in Turned off and can update the modem version.

  6. Once the update is complete, you can verify that the traffic signal is using the correct modem version by going to "Overview - Unit" and clicking on "View Logs." Under "Version Data", the unit's current versions are displayed.
